Installation guides are provided with true Tracker orders. We always recommend using licensed electricians with knowledge of local codes for installation of the True Tracker. Installing the unit involves handling high voltage. API Monitoring LLC assumes no liability for any injury or death incurred during the installation or improper installation of the True Tracker.

Experienced electricians are able to install a unit in about 15 - 20 minutes. At first you may want to plan on about 45 minutes to install a unit until the process is familiar. After making sure you have cell phone coverage, and the right unit for that location, you can proceed with installation. Other timer clocks and relays are removed from your sub panel before attaching the Tracker. To make the job easier we recommend using braided wire, open end connectors, female connectors, a 1/2" or 3/4" chase nipple, 3-4 self tapping metal screws, and a silicone tube with caulking in addition to regular tools; flat head screwdriver, small phillips head with magnetic tip, drill with multi-bit, and wire cutter, stripper, crimper. Having these parts available, as well as making sure your tools are charged and ready will make the process run smoothly. Partway through the installation process, you will need to call API to have the unit enabled for operation. Because of this, we recommend installing the units during business hours between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM central time.
